Emily Schuerman is the lead Mitigation Investigator for the Lone Star Justice Alliance. Emily joined LSJA in 2019 as an Emerging Adult Justice Fellow while earning her undergraduate degree and was hired full-time after graduation. Her work focuses primarily on youth serving extreme sentences in Texas. Emily has received extensive training in working with youth and incarcerated populations, including certifications in Trust Based Relationship Intervention and Youth Mental Health First Aid.

Emily received a Bachelor of Arts in Government and Sociology from the University of Texas at Austin, where her studies were concentrated on the collateral consequences of mass incarceration and the school-to-prison pipeline.
